The Joliet Drama Guild proudly announces its first production of its 78th season, the delightful comedy Sylvia,by A. R. Gurney. Sylvia offers a light-hearted, but touching, footnote to the old saw about “man’s best friend”.
Joliet Drama Guild is proud to partner with The Will County Humane Society
In the play, directed by Allen Pindell, a pair of empty nesters moves to Manhattan. The husband Greg (Christopher J. Smith of Lockport) finds his career winding down, just as his wife Kate’s (Theresa Lang of Minooka) teaching career is taking off. Sylvia (Devon Ford of Joliet), a street-smart Lab/Poodle mix, follows Greg home to become his new best friend, much to the annoyance of Kate. Add David Laurich (of Joliet) in three supporting roles, and you have an unforgettable theatrical experience. Frank Hattula (Assistant Director) and Samantha Piper (Stage Manager) ably support the cast and crew, with Luke Pascale and Christina Spiros serving as Producers, and Kathleen Stevens as Assistant Producer. With this cast and crew, you can be sure of an evening of first-rate entertainment at a convenient local venue.
