The Joliet Drama Guild’s Studio J Presents

 What The Butler Saw

 April 20 & 21, 2010 at 8 P.M.

"What the Butler Saw", a zany farce by Joe Orton, is the second production by Studio J, a series of plays presented by the Joliet Drama Guild that push the limits of what is normally done by community theatre.  Show dates will be Tuesday, April 20 and Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 8:00pm, inside the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theatre, 201 W. Jefferson, Joliet, IL.

A young woman who has come to apply for a secretarial position at Dr. Prentice's psychiatric clinic is talked out of her clothing by the doctor. His wife is being blackmailed by a hotel page boy who has taken indecent photographs of her, and taken her dress as well. A pompous inspector of asylums is on the scene, convinced that the goings-on at the clinic have all the elements of a lurid bestseller. And a befuddled police sergeant, trying to locate the missing parts of Sir Winston Churchill, will be drugged and stripped before it is all over.

"What the Butler Saw" is being produced in conjunction with The Joliet Drama Guild's mainstage production of "The Curious Savage", and is being performed on Tuesday and Wednesday between the two weekends of "The Curious Savage."
