The Joliet Drama Guild presented Deathtrap, written by Ira Levin and directed by Christopher Smith, with the help of Assistant Director Devon Ford. Stage Managed by Alexis Smith, Produced by Pete Piane.
The play, "Deathtrap," is a five character, two act thriller so perfect in its construction that, as Sidney says, "A gifted director couldn't even hurt it." Using his penchant for plot, and out of his desperate desire to once again be the toast of Broadway, Sidney, (Luke Pascale) along with Myra, (Sandee Cunningham) cook up an almost unthinkable scheme: They'll lure the would-be playwright Clifford Anderson (Jeff Matson) to the Bruhl home, kill him, and market the surefire script as Sidney's own. But shortly after Clifford arrives, it's clear that things are not what they seem! Indeed, even Helga Ten Dorp, (Sue Martin) a nosey psychic from next door, and Porter Milgram, (Christina Spiros) Sidney's observant attorney, can only speculate where the line between truth and deception lies.
Performances were Fridays, April 13 and 20, and Saturdays, April 14 and 21, at 8:00 PM and Sunday, April 15 and 22 at 2:00 at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theater at 201 W. Jefferson, Joliet IL 60432.
